RENT, Jonathan Larson’s Tony Award-winning rock remake of Puccini’s opera La Bohème, is set to kick off the Tacchi-Morris Art Centre’s new season in style next week.

Wells’ Young Musical Theatre Company presents this lively, emotional and stirring musical, which follows one year in the lives of a group of friends struggling with love, impoverishment and rent riots.

Capturing the heart and spirit of a generation of artists and addicts living in the shadow of HIV, the bohemians find the salvation of love within each other, proving there can be a better world where art thrives and everything good is free.

This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Ltd on behalf of Music Theatre.

Rent runs at 7.30pm at the Tacchi-Morris Arts Centre in Monkton Heathfield on Friday and Saturday, September 5-6.

Tickets cost £16 (£14 concessions) and can be booked online at www.tacchi-morris.com or by calling 01823-414141.

The musical is recommended for people aged 16 and over.
