DELICIOUS things are hard to resist, as any foodie will tell you.
The team behind the flavour-packed success of Burnham’s Food and Drink Festival have decided to host a relaxed, free garden party next month, on Sunday, August 17.
There will be “superb” Somerset produce on offer between 1pm and 7pm at the Manor Gardens in Burnham with the event’s backing track provided by music in the bandstand.
Sarah Milner Simonds, one of the Food and Drink Festival organisers, said: “This party is on a much smaller scale than the food festivals.
“We have invited a dozen local Somerset suppliers who will be bringing cheeses, wines, bread and a few treats to make the perfect picnic in the park.
“We will have a modern marquee and all visitors need to do is gather some friends and family – and don't forget your picnic rug.”
The event is now on the hunt for Burnham area musicians to take busking spots in the bandstand, to play for picknickers.
