MANY a Monty Python fan across the UK will be in raptures this Sunday. At 7pm, the Pythons will take to the stage of London’s O2 Arena and broadcast their surreal antics, live, to Somerset’s big screens.
John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin’s big reunion has been one of the most hotly-anticipated of them all – the first in three decades – and you can witness it almost in the flesh at Street’s Strode Theatre.
Rightfully regarded as some of the world’s finest-ever comedians, the troupe influenced a generation and revolutionised comedy.
With infamous creations including ‘Spam’, the Dead Parrot Sketch and The Ministry of Silly Walks, the Python brand entered British cultural sub-conscious long ago, to become part of our national identity.
Tickets for the live broadcast cost £17/£15 concessions.
An encore screening has already been scheduled, thanks to the strength of ticket sales on Wednesday, August 13, at 7.30pm, at Strode, at £15 a ticket (£13 concs) at strodetheatre.org.uk or from the Strode Theatre Box Office on 01458-442846.
Advance booking is strongly recommended.
