THE man the record books crowned the ‘world’s greatest living explorer’ comes to Minehead on Tuesday, July 22, for a talk at the Regal Theatre.

Sir Ranulph Fiennes has led 22 major expeditions to some of the world’s most remote locations, including both poles, is the only man alive to have trekked around the Earth’s circumpolar surface and at the age of 65 became the oldest Briton to scale Everest.

To date, he has raised over £16million for UK charities through his expeditions, and in 1993 he was awarded an OBE for ‘Human Endeavour and Charitable Services’.

The former Exmoor resident will discuss his expeditions and experiences with his wickedly dry sense of humour.

Proceeds from this event go to the Exford church bell tower appeal. Ranulph will be available for a book signing in the Regal Bar after the talk.

Tickets cost £15 for adults, £14.40 for ‘Friends’ and £10 for concessions. Book by calling 01643-706430 or visit www.regaltheatre.co.uk
