AFTER the rip-roaring success of its first drama festival, Burnham’s Princess Theatre Company is calling for youngsters to step up to its performance plate.

PTC is auditioning for two upcoming plays: ‘Dragged Up’, due to be performed on September 19, and ‘Out of the Mist’ (November 14).

Three boys and a girl around the age of 12 are wanted for ‘Dragged Up’ as well as at least six children of varying ages for ‘Out of the Mist’.

Kim Cook said: “This is a great opportunity for local children to get involved.

“‘Dragged Up’ is a comedy drama set in Yorkshire, 1974, during the three-day week.

“The children don’t have to actually be 12 but they need to look 12, and also need to master a Yorkshire accent.’ “‘Out of the Mist’ is in conjunction with Burnham RNLI, with all ticket sales going to the RNLI.

“It is a dramatisation of the history of the RNLI, so it’s not only a piece of entertaining drama but educational as well.

“This is a great opportunity for children who think they may want to try acting but are nervous of going for a big role.’”
