IT’S less than three weeks until Taunton’s Brewhouse theatre re-opens with two very different shows from the county’s fresh-faced performers.

On April 8-12, Tuesday to Saturday, Taunton Scout & Guide Gang Show returns home with the rousing revue the county town knows and loves.

Packing in 25 years’ worth of family entertainment, expect a big opening number, song, dance and comedy sketches – youngsters giving it their all.

Ralph Reader CBE, the original Gang Show producer, contrived the format, going on to write a raft of material for Gang Shows, sketches, musical numbers and pageants.

Tickets cost £8.50/£7.50 for Wednesday and Thursday, £9/£8 for Thursday and Friday, £8.50/£7.50 for the Saturday 2.30pm matinee, and £11 for Saturday night from Taunton Tourist Information Centre on 01823-336344.

Disney’s High School Musical is staged on April 16- 19 with Young Musical Theatre Company’s 16-25s.

Teenage Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens cut their acting teeth in Disney’s hit movie in which an American high school is thrown into disarray when new girl Gabriella challenges stereotypes and social cliques – a message Wells-based, NODA-accredited musical theatre company is keen to promote.

Tickets cost £15 (£14 concessions) at www.ymtcgroup.com
