A “FILTHILY funny” ALAN Bennett favourite, performed by The National Theatre, is screened at Strode Theatre in Street tonight.
The late, great Richard Griffiths stars in The Habit of Art (15), which was recorded at the master theatre in London in 2010, and is being re-released as part of the theatre’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
Written in 2009, Bennett’s play follows the plight of English composer Benjamin Britten as he seeks advice from his former friend and collaborator, W H Auden, over Death in Venice, Britten’s new opera.
Tickets for the screening at 7.30pm on Thursday, November 7, are £12/ £10, and can be booked on 01458-442846 or strodetheatre.org.uk
