BOWING out after 30 years’ playing together, The Alberni String Quartet is tuning up to give its final performance this Saturday, September 21, with a nostalgic Dillington House concert.
It was with modern classical masterpieces that the four-piece made their name – and this Saturday night it’ll be Janácek’s Intimate Letters, Shostakovich’s Quartet No.7, and Benjamin Britten’s Quartet No.3 that get the Alberni treatment.
The quad formed at London’s Royal Academy of Music three decades ago, and have played at Dillington for almost the same length of time.
Concert-only tickets are £16 for adults and £8 for under-16s. A three course pre-concert supper is also available.
