AN EXHIBITION of work by professional artist Gary Cediera is opening at Churchgate Gallery in Porlock. Gary, who regularly paints landscapes in the South-West, began his artistic journey in very different surroundings.
Growing up in Galicia, he started out painting the mountainous, rugged panoramas of North Western Spain, where his father had a farm.
At 13 he studied painting under Jose Luis Perez Alaez, an assistant to Salvador Dali, before moving to the UK, studying Fine Art in Exeter and Plymouth.
The paintings on display from March 25 to April 24 explore his fascination with the natural world and the beauty and uniqueness of journeys into the landscape.
