Clean Bandit have told how they were shocked to reach number one again, this time with their new track Symphony.

The collaboration with Zara Larsson topped the charts this week, knocking Ed Sheeran off the throne again following his brief return last week.

It spells another big success for the three-piece band, who held on to the top spot for nine weeks last year, with hit tune Rockabye earning itself the title of official Christmas number one for 2016.

“After everything that happened with Rockabye, we didn’t think it would be possible to replicate that, but now we’re number one again,” they said.

“We are all amazed. We’ve been in the US the last few weeks touring with Zara Larsson and we got the chance to tell her it was number one – she was so excited.”

But Ed’s grip on the charts is still holding strong, with his Shape Of You in second place and Galway Girl in third.

Harry Styles’ Sign Of The Times, which enjoyed a short stint in the top spot earlier this month, is clinging to fourth position for a second week running, while Drake’s Passionfruit remains at number five.

Ed continues to reign over the albums list with Divide, while Steps’ brand new comeback record Tears On The Dancefloor follows in second.

The group’s first collection in 15 years was named most downloaded album of the week, also sparking a boost in sales of 2011 compilation, The Ultimate Collection.

In third place is Rag ‘N’ Bone Man’s Human with Kendrick Lamar’s recent release, Damn., in fifth.

Imelda May is new to the top five this week with her Life Love Flesh Blood entering in fourth position.

Late star David Bowie has also seen a fresh surge in the charts, with his live performance Cracked Actor entering at number 20, as well as remixes of Hunky Dory tracks.
