New Tottenham Hotspur signing Son Heung-min scored a hat-trick as his South Korea side thrashed Laos 8-0 in a World Cup qualifier.

Son, who joined Spurs from Bayer Leverkusen for £22million last week, completed his hat-trick one minute from time after earlier striking in the 12th and 74th minutes.

The win leaves South Korea top of their Group G in Asian qualifying for the World Cup with two wins from as many games and the side take on Lebanon on Tuesday.

A number of Spurs players will be in international action over the weekend, including England’s Harry Kane and Ryan Mason, the Belgian contingent of Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld and Nacer Chadli and Denmark’s Christian Erikson.
