THE Christmas Lights switch on this year in Tiverton is on Saturday, November 23 and is a Lights’n’Lantern celebration.

There will be entertainment starting in the afternoon with competitions for the family, including a race to dress a Christmas tree, carol singing and other entertainment.

The stage will be in Fore Street with the opening act at 3pm.

The schools lantern parade and samba band will be playing throughout the afternoon.

The lights will be switched on at 6pm by the Mayor of Tiverton and they will be drawing the winning tickets for the raffle.

Santa’s grotto will be in Bampton Street, so children can put their requests in early.

There will be lots of family fun at the Tiverton Pannier Market which will have its own lights this year will be staying open late.

There will be a Tree of Remembrance in the grounds of St George’s Church for anyone wishing to have a light for a loved one this year.
