AGE UK Mid Devon is aiming to make its 25th anniversary a year to remember.

Founded in 1988, Age UK Mid Devon provides a range of highquality services for around 4,000 clients each year and has over 12,000 occurrences.

To mark its 25th anniversary, the organisation, which aims to improve the quality of life of elderly people, will be staging a number of fun and celebratory events.

On November 1, a quiz night and raffle will begin the celebrations.

Tiverton Rugby Club is the venue and the evening starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £3 and you can enter a team of up to six. There will be a cash bar and a raffle, and even a cash prize for the winning team.

To enter a team call 01884 255369 or email enquiries@ageukmid devon.org.uk A Pamper and Fashion Evening provides a well deserved evening of relaxation and entertainment on November 7. The evening starts at 7.30pm at the Tiverton Hotel with the fashions getting underway at 8pm. Tickets cost £5.

Grab a welcome drink on arrival and browse various stalls during the evening, and pamper yourself with treatments, and enjoy the new Jo Amor and Farthings collections.

All proceeds from the night and the raffle will go to Age UK Mid Devon to help older people.

Age UK Mid Devon started with only a few staff and volunteers, and has grown to over 11 staff and over 100 volunteers.

Its volunteers are amazing individuals of all ages and skills who give their time free to help others.

£1,000 pays for 20 older people in Devon to have a full benefit check and a visit from a volunteer to help complete disability benefit forms.

The result can be an increase in income of several thousand pounds, meaning a better standard of living.

£500 pays for 25 people who live with dementia to have day opportunities and for carers to take a break knowing their loved one is safe.

£250 pays for IT classes for 100 older people to help tackle social isolation and increase community engagement.
