ONE of the country’s top Beatles tribute bands is to perform at Tiverton Golf Club in August.

The Fab Beatles have performed all over the UK, Europe, North America,the Middle East and the Caribbean and can list Sir Terry Wogan, Sir Michael Parkinson, Jonathon Ross and Sarah Ferguson,the Duchess of York, among their celebrity fans.

The show at TGC will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Beatlemania, which was coined when the rock legends from Liverpool hitthe big time in 1963.

The Fab Beatles have an impressive track record of their own.

In 2001 they finished runnersup on BBC1 show Battle of the Fantasy Bands, having been selected as the best Beatles tribute actin the UK by the corporation.

They were commissioned by EMI, The Beatles’ own record label,to promote the launch of the Beatles 1 album and have played in front of a celebrity audience atthe legendary Abbey Road Studios.

The Fab Beatles are no strangers to sporting venues either, having performed for Chelsea Football Club twice and at rugby union’s Guinness Premiership Final at Twickenham in 2006.

More recently,they were named Best Tribute Act atthe South West Music Awards in 2012.

This year is another busy one for the band and includes shows in Sweden, Norway,Ireland and Abu Dhabi.

The Fab Beatles were formed in 1991,turned professional in 1998 and feature Kev Day as John Lennon, Daniel Schamroth as Paul McCartney, Miky Dunn as George Harrison and Joe Breban as Ringo Starr.

They sport only authentic costumes and instruments, including the drum kit used by Ringo on The Beatles’tour of America in 1964.

The show at TGC takes place on Friday, August 30 (7.30pm) and will cover the whole Beatles experience.
