A NEW radio station is being launched in Cornwall this winter.

Goldmine FM promises an as yet unannounced a “star-studded team” of presenters, together with a traditional golden oldies music mix.

It’s the brainchild of Dan Warren who in his 15 years in the media industry has presented for ITV, Channel 5 and SKY.

Dan said: “I was born in Truro and I always wanted to do something here. My career to date has given me the chance to work with really dedicated industry professionals. There are three names that we’ll announce in mid-November who are no strangers to the county whatsoever.

“We’ve also bringing some new names to the county, industry veterans who are bringing their talent from out of county. We’ve fought hard to get this talent and they are people that know how to entertain.”

Although the main studio will be in Penstraze Business Park, Truro, presenters will broadcast from a series of remote studios around the county.

“This is a very exciting project for Cornwall, who for the first time will have a radio station dedicated to a specific audience and we look forward to working with local businesses and services across the county as we embrace the digital revolution in Cornwall.”

The new radio station will predominantly play hits from the 50s through to the 80s and is set to broadcast 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
