This festive season Cousin Jack's present a magical puppet and live action production of Antonia Barber’s classic children’s story, The Mousehole Cat at the Solomon Browne Memorial Hall in Mousehole - the village's former pilchard works.

Following a sold-out Christmas residency in 2016, Mowzer is back by popular demand. “Enthusiasm and feedback for the show was so great that we just couldn’t stop Mowzer making a return journey home again this year,” said Cousin Jack’s artistic director, Guy Watson.

“The show was so popular with educators in the audience wanting to bring some of our magic to their school that we had to create new children’s workshop this year. All of the these have now been snapped up, but do register your schools interest with us for next year.”

Cousin Jack’s have also added two relaxed performances on December 24 and 31 for adults and children who might benefit from a more relaxed environment, or are uncomfortable with sudden lighting changes or loud noises, including those with an autistic spectrum condition, sensory or communication needs or a learning disability. These performances are, of course, open to everyone. If you would like to talk to the company before booking your tickets for a relaxed performance email guy@cousinjacks.org.

This year’s adaption features many familiar faces including Mowzer of course in the safe hands of the hugely talented Bec Applebee and Bryher Flanders returns as the most loveable Cornish fishwife Dolly who steers the audience through Mowzer and Tom’s epic adventure. New for this year is a folk driven live acoustic soundtrack taking influence from traditional Cornish songs performed by local musician Richard Trethewey.

The Mousehole Cat runs until December 31 in the heart of Mousehole alongside the village's famous Christmas illuminations. For more info and tickets go to cousinjacks.org or call 01726 879500.
