A guitarist who is world renowned for his improvisational skills will perform four concerts in Cornwall next week.

Paris-based Italian guitarist Christian Lavernier, has appeared at festivals from London to Tokyo, having learned his trade with guitarists including Alirio Diaz and David Russell, and will next week perform a mixture of early 19th century music and improvisations.

Christian said: “I met Ben Salfield and Charlotte Arnold at Nordhorn Festival, Germany, a couple of years ago, and now I am delighted to visit Cornwall for the first time.

“They have told me that audiences are very enthusiastic and friendly... and promise to introduce me to the pasty, which sounds a fascinating experience.”

Tickets are available from the online box office at kernowconcerts.co.uk and cost £10 for adults, with children under 16 going free.

There will be performances at Helston Museum on September 12, Newlyn Centre on September 13, St Anthony in Meneage Church on September 14, and Malpas Village Hall on September 16, and all concerts begin at 7.30pm.
