A business director, a training consultant and an acupuncturist will be swapping the day jobs for a night of punk rock performance as they become incarnations of Johnny Rotten, Glen Matlock and Paul Cook - all for charity.
As Blackout - Cornwall’s newest punk and new wave cover bands, singer Simon Foxhall, guitarist Mike Clarke, and bass player Paul Adkins will be joined by drummer Finn Hellier to raise money for mental health charities Carrick Mind and Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).
After officially launching at Simon’s wedding in May, the band will return at the Watersports Centre in Falmouth on Saturday, September 2.
Simon said: “We’re pleased to announce that Blackout will be hosting and performing at this charity fundraiser in support of mental health. We know many people, including ourselves, have been touched by events that require mental health support from the wider community. So it will be great to get support on the night, or via donation, to help raise funds to provide aid to people in need.”
The band will be playing classic tracks including Teenage Kicks, Ever Fallen in Love, Eton Rifles and Pretty Vacant.
The event starts at 7.30pm and tickets are £5 in advance via EventBrite or Sifar in Falmouth, or £6 on the door.
More information on Blackout can be found at black-out.co.uk and donations can also be made via the band’s Just Giving page justgiving.com/fundraising/blackoutcornwall
