Places are available for a free performance workshop based on people assembling to be held at CAST in Helston.

Assembling in the Hall gives people the chance to be a part of a new performance work produced in and for the group's school assembly hall.

Led by choreographer Katrina Brown, senior lecturer in dance and choreography at Falmouth University, the one-day workshop explores choreographic configurations of people assembling and disassembling.

The morning will be spent working with the body and exploring movement, with increasing connection, sensitivity and awareness towards other bodies and to the architectural and material details of the space. In the afternoon these ideas will be developed choreographically and a collective performance score will be produced.

In the evening members of the public are invited to gather in the hall to watch, sense, hear and immerse themselves in the group performance.

Katrina is an interdisciplinary choreographer working with performance, drawing and digital technology. Her work operates across dance, live art and visual art contexts.

No dance experience is necessary for the workshop, and admission to the evening performance is free with no booking required.

Assembling in the Hall will be held at CAST on Saturday, August 12, with the workshop from 11am to 5pm, for which booking is required, and the evening performance from 6.30pm, no booking required.
