Twin Atlantic have become the alternative rock band of the moment with the release of their top 10, critically acclaimed new album GLA.

Their performance on Later with Jools Holland and their UK tour has shown them to be one of the best live acts around and they play the Lemongrove at Exeter University on Friday, May 26.

Hailing from Glasgow, Scotland, Twin Atlantic met in 2007 and the group built up a strong reputation both locally and nationally before recording their debut EP, A Guidance from Colour, in 2008, which gave them a reputation for specialising in stadium-sized, radio-ready rock.

GLA was written in Glasgow, and the band relocated to Topanga Canyon in Los Angeles to record the album, working with Jacknife Lee who had previously produced some tracks for previous top 10 album Great Divide.

Support on the night comes from Darlia and The Pale White. Hailing from Blackpool, Darlia’s first release, 2013's Knock Knock EP, earned the trio praise across the board and comparisons to 90s grunge. With their second EP Candyman becoming Zane Lowe's Hottest Record on his BBC Radio 1 show a string of major festivals including Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds, and T in the Park, the band headed into the studio to record their debut album and the result, Petals, was released in February 2015.

The Pale White are the band that British rock needs right now. As US pop dominates the charts and grime enjoys its own cultural resurgence - the emerging Newcastle trio are the lads to propel rock music back to the summit.

Debut single Reaction, a thumping slice of Josh Homme-infused blues-rock featuring Adam Hope on vocals/guitar, his brother Jack on drums and Tom Booth on bass, will not just prick up ears, but no doubt grab the entire industry by the scruff of the neck - intensely melodic and catchy, while packing a mighty bark and bite to match.
