Eden Sessions is riding high this summer as Foals gallop into Cornwall for their only English show outside of London this year.

The Oxford quintet will headline the Eden Project on July 11, unleashing their unique indie-rock sound and complex lyrics, influenced by literature and philosophy.

Rita Broe, Eden’s marketing director, said: “It’s a real coup for the Sessions and for Cornwall that Foals have chosen to play Eden for their only non-festival show in England this year.

“They are an incredible live act who have wowed audiences across the world with massive, energetic, emotionally-charged performances. Their triumphant headline show at Reading last year was proof that they are up there with the best. This will be a huge gig at Eden and an opportunity that no music fan should pass up.”

Foals have released four studio albums – Antidotes, Total Life Forever, Holy Fire and What Went Down – all of which charted in the top ten in the UK and achieved gold status or higher.

In 2015 they were named Best Act in the World Today at the Q Awards, following their accolade of Best Live Act at the same awards in 2013. They have twice been nominated for the Mercury Prize – for Total Life Forever and Holy Fire – and their single Spanish Sahara was nominated for an Ivor Novello Award.

Spanish Sahara and Inhaler have both won the Best Track gong at the NME Awards, and What Went Down was named Best Album last year.

Also on the bill at the Eden Sessions in 2017 is Bastille on June 15, Madness in a sold out show on June 16, Royal Blood on June 22 and Bryan Adams, who has also sold out on July 6.

The Eden Sessions enter their sixteenth year in 2017. Last year saw Lionel Richie, Tom Jones, PJ Harvey, Manic Street Preachers and Jess Glynne carry on the great tradition of bringing top UK and international acts to Eden.

The series also has its own free-to-view online TV channel at youtube.com/edensessionstv featuring regularly-updated videos of some of the gigs' finest shows.

Tickets to the Foals Eden Session will go on general sale at 5.30pm on Tuesday, March 28, at edensessions.com
