Hard rock duo Royal Blood will be bringing their incendiary live show to the Eden Sessions on Thursday, June 22.

Brighton duo Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher caused a major splash with their self-titled debut album in 2014, which went platinum after topping the UK charts. The album spawned the singles Out of the Black, Come on Over, Figure it Out, Little Monster and Ten Tonne Skeleton.

The record was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2014. In 2015, Royal Blood won Best British Group at the BRIT Awards, Best Live Band and Best New Band at the NME Awards, Best Live Act at the Q Awards and Best British Newcomer at the Kerrang! Awards.

The band released a cryptic video in December, widely interpreted as a hint that they will be releasing a new album in 2017.

Despite having only two members, Royal Blood manage to create a huge, hard-edged sound and have won accolades from rock’s grandees, including Led Zeppelin’s legendary axe-man Jimmy Page.

Rita Broe, Eden’s marketing director, said: “We know that a lot of our audience are big rock fans so we’re very pleased to be bringing perhaps the most exciting young rock band in the world to the Eden Sessions this summer. Royal Blood are incredible musicians and proper rock 'n' rollers who are sure to hit us with their signature wall of sound this summer.

“This is a great coup for the Eden Sessions and we’re very proud to be the venue for their first UK show to be announced this year.”

The Eden Sessions has its own free-to-view online TV channel at www.youtube.com/edensessionstv which features regularly-updated videos of some of its finest shows.

Tickets for Royal Blood at the Eden Sessions cost £40 plus £5 booking fee and are on sale to members of the Inside Track programme now before going on general sale on Thursday, February 9 at 5.30pm at www.edensessions.com
