Penzance Folk Club is known for its well-attended and reasonably-priced guest nights, and next week’s session featuring Si Barron will kick off the 2017 programme.

The event takes place upstairs at the Admiral Benbow, Chapel Street Penzance, at 8.30 on Wednesday, January 25.

“We're absolutely delighted to welcome Si on his first visit to Penzance Folk Club,” said Penzance Folk Club. “He is one of the up and coming young stars for the next generation of folk music, has a terrific voice and plays incredible guitar. This, together with Si’s individual and powerful interpretation of the traditional material, makes Wednesday an evening not to be missed.”

Folk legend Mike Harding has described Si as a "really, really fine guitarist and an even finer interpreter of traditional and contemporary folk songs." And Si himself says: “I play guitar, dulcimer and harmonium. I mainly sing English traditional song, the only kind of music that never gets old.”
