There are just weeks to go before Falmouth's youth theatre company holds its first pre-audition rehearsal for its summer production of the hit musical Hairspray.

If you're aged between ten and 20 and fancy getting involved with the award-winning Young Generation, then just turn up at Falmouth Methodist Church at 7pm on Thursday, January 26, - there's no need to pre-register.

Three more pre-audition rehearsals will then be held at the church between 7pm and 9.30pm on February 2, 9 and 16. At these events participants will all learn some songs, some choreography and a little bit of script so they all audition with the same material. The cost of the four rehearsals is £5

Auditions are held in slots of 30 minutes with small groups of three to five people. During the pre-audition rehearsals youngsters will be able to sign up for their preferred time with their preferred peers.

The actual auditions will then take place on Sunday, February 19, at Falmouth Theatre Company's rehearsal rooms in Chapel Terrace at times to be announced. The show will be cast that afternoon with letters being sent out letting everyone know if they have been successful or not.

For those who have won parts, rehearsals will then start on Thursday, February 23, at Falmouth Methodist Church, when they will be required to pay subs of £40. These rehearsals are compulsory for all cast members regardless of role.

The show itself, with director, Ashley Spear; choreographer, Trenton Spear and musical director, Sian Kelly, will be staged at The Poly in Falmouth from August 1 to 5.
