The National Youth Training Choir will be celebrating the musical heritage of western lands near and far with a concert at Truro Cathedral on Saturday, August 15.
In what will be a collaborative performance with the award-winning Crioch Quartet folk group, this ensemble will feature brand new arrangements based on Cornish and West Country heritage.
The programme also travels across the sea to take in music from the New World cathedrals, early American shape-note music, African-American spirituals and the classic sound of US barbershop. Conducted by Robert Isaacs and Chris Hann.
This performance is part of the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain’s Summerfest, which has more than 500 of the nation’s best young singers come together to give performances of a huge range of choral music at theatre, concert halls and cathedrals in seven counties.
