He’s been crowned King of the Jungle, danced on ice and, for a laugh, has spent time in a South American Prison for television show The Prisoner. This Wednesday, July 29, he will be at the Hall for Cornwall to talk about opening up a chip shop with the Dalai Lama. We managed to catch up with one of the country's most loved comedians to ask him a few questions.
What do you do to switch off and relax?
I try to relax by going running. I also box at a local gym, I also have a PPL (Private Pilots Licence) so fly whenever I can, and I am also studying with the Open University towards a Bsc in Geo Science.
Where is your favourite place?
My favourite place is in South America - ,it is Machu Picchu in Peru. I did the Inca trail a few years ago and want to go back again in the future.
Best movie?
Young Frankenstein by Mel Brooks.
Who is your hero?
My Dad.
Sweet or savoury?
Definitely sweet.
What time of the day are you at your best?
Night time, that's when I’m most awake
Are you a tea or coffee man?
I don't drink tea or coffee, maybe the odd herbal tea.
Do you have sea legs or are you very much a land animal?
Definitely a land or air animal.... I don't have sea legs.
Where did the concept of your current stand-up come from?
There's is no concept in what shape the show takes, I just want to have a laugh with people.
