From Minehead proceed on the A39 to Porlock. On reaching the village proceed through the village passing the church in the centre forking left at the end of village signposted Lynton and Lynmouth. Keep left where the road branches off to the Toll Road and follow the road up Porlock Hill. Proceed for approximately half a mile where the private road will be found on the left hand side signposted Halsecombe. Follow the track and on reaching a cottage turn sharp back left where the track will lead down to Hillgate House.
