Reminder about protest march
POLICE are warning motorists to be aware of a protest march along the A359 from Mudford to Yeovil on Friday (March 28).
Mudford Neighbourhood Police Community Support Officer Mel Austin said: "An expected 40 villagers will be walking into Yeovil along this busy road, which does not have a pavement, in protest against the planned closure of the Post Office.
"Some of those planning to take part are frail and elderly, so my colleague PCSO Karen Pack and I will be there in high visibility clothing to help make sure the walk takes place as safely as possible."
The walkers are due to meet at Mudford Post Office at 4pm and walk to Cavalier Way, Yeovil, to show how far it is to the next nearest branch.
The protest is being arranged by Mudford Parish Council.
