Staff at Truro High School for Girls have staged a spectacular Christmas pantomime for pupils.

Entitled Snow White and The Six D List Celebrities', the event provided an hilarious opportunity for teachers and admin staff to show off their thespian talents. Head of Drama Clare Rawlinson not only wrote and directed the play, she also played the evil queen - earning lots of boos and hisses for her very convincing performance.

Astrid Hanson, normally Head of Mathematics, took the part of Snow White whilst Deputy Head Fiona Matthew played the Fairy Narrator. Headmaster Michael McDowell appeared first as an imitation of Strictly Come Dancing host Bruce Forsyth before being transformed into a fairytale prince - even succeeding in whisking Snow White away from the arms of a distraught Robbie Williams (alias IT technician Chris Beechey-Newman).

No pantomime would be complete without a pantomime cow so Head of English Ann Holland duly performed a brilliant front end. Head of Sixth Form Neil Fee did an equally excellent job at the rear.

It is the first time that Truro High School staff have strutted their stuff in a panto but, judging by the rapturous response of the audience, it certainly won't be the last.
