I, too have fond memories of Alan. I used to live in The Lodge, Milverton and Alan's family kept pigs behind the property. I'll never forget Alan frantically chasing after about 30 piglets which had escaped into our driveway. Alan and I both went to Huish's along with Mike Hannon. We spent many mornings and afternoons together waiting for the bus to (or back from) school. He was a funny man and I liked him a lot. As Mike said, RIP 'Tuck'.

I'd just like to say that Alan was very good to me many years ago. When I was just 11 and started at Huish's Grammar School Alan (whose father 'Tommy' knew my family) took me under his wing, at school and on the bus, as he was an 'old hand' with one year's experience. I was a nervous little kid but he helped me cope and we became friends. You don't forget that sort of thing.
RIP 'Tuck'.
Michael Hannon - formerly of Wiveliscombe, now in France.
